There is no such word as “human doing”
If there is no such word as human doing, how did the world become
consumed with doing, doing, doing?
Somewhere, somehow, the world as a whole has forgotten the art and
balance of being human, of just being. After all, we are not human doings we
are human beings.
The way we deal with energy is the way we deal
with life. By helping it flow though our bodies, we become
physically and psychologically balanced.
If human beings individually and collectively can learn to quiet and
heal themselves both physically and spiritually, and support one another, these
individuals, and society as a whole, can achieve a state of balance and health
of body, mind and spirit.
If human beings can learn to heal themselves and find a quiet place
inside, and bring that art to others, the world will assuredly become more
peaceful place in which to be.
As students, one by one, learn the Ohashiatsu art of healing touch,
they find better health, more serenity and an improved quality of life. With this
knowledge, they become ambassadors, able to touch others in a meaningful way,
improving the quality of life of others, just by being there.
This is the goal of the Ohashi Institute: to contribute what it can
to human happiness – one student at a time.
Around the world
Students come to the Ohashi Institute form around the world – from
Russia and Europe to Israel and Africa, from Australia and South America to
Polynesia and Canada. The benefits of studying Ohashiatsu are many and
profound, according to students and the Ohashi Institute. Like many other
Eastern disciplines, such as yoga, t’ai chi ch’uan and chi kung, Ohashiatsu
involves a meditative movement that integrates body, mind and spirit.
A key difference, however, is that Ohashiatsu is a healing method which is applied by one person to another.
In fact both the receiver and the giver enjoy the benefits.
Giving and Receiving
The receiver experiences pain and stress reduction and an enhanced
sense of harmony and well being. Since Ohashiatsu classes are part
lecture/discussion and part practice among students, students enjoy these
benefits simply as a result of their participation in class.
For the giver, studying Ohashiatsu puts the
student on a path of self healing and self discovery that includes physical and
mental exercise, and the development of increasing sensitivity – both intuitive
and tactile. The practice of giving Ohashiatsu involves an elegance of movement
that cannot help but increase body awareness and grace. This focus on subtle
life energies calls for a discipline quieting of mind and self.
